Did You Make A Weight Loss Resolution? Here’s How To Make It Work!

If losing weight was at the top of your list of New Year’s resolutions and several months have passed without success, it is necessary to try something truly useful. Honestly, there are countless numbers of people that vow to lose weight every New Year, and if they were to all follow through, we would see a vast reduction in the number of people who are obese in the world.

It is an unfortunate fact, however, that less than 10% of these “resolution-takers” manage to fulfill their resolutions during the course of the year. This article will give you three ways to succeed with your weight loss resolutions no matter what happens obstacles you face!

Most individuals do not accomplish their New Year’s resolutions for several reasons:

1. Many times, they do not set goals for themselves that are attainable. How can you do what you vow, when the goals you have set are unreachable? If you are one of those people who want to lose as much weight as they can, as fast as they can, then you will probably never see the results that you are striving for, no matter what you do. If, however, you word your goal to state that you are going to lose a percentage of your body fat by following a healthy program, you set yourself up for success!

There exist no real fast weight loss systems out there that would enable you to lose fat, which is what needs to go so that you are slimmer. Usually the only thing these types of flashy diets do, is make you dehydrated, burn up valuable muscle mass, and cause your body to be in worse shape than before you started dieting. Recognize that if you have healthy eating habits and routinely exercise, that you are doing all that is necessary to lose those extra pounds! Diet programs and supplements are nothing but wastes of your hard earned money!

b) People aim too high:  The majority of people make the error of aiming too high, thus wind up accomplishing too little. You will notice weight loss far more quickly when you set lower, realistic goals for yourself.

Here is an example of a short-term goal: the amount of weight that you want to lose is 15 pounds. Set yourself the goal of losing five pounds instead of the twenty pounds that you know you need to ultimately get rid of. You could drop that many pounds in a few short weeks! Keeping your goals low and realistic, and watching yourself achieve them, will keep you so motivated that you will have lost all 20 pounds before you know it!

3. Many people do not reward themselves for a job well done. If you do not give yourself treats every so often, you will not feel that it is worth it to continue to lose weight. Seriously, have you ever really TRIED at something you were required to do but got nothing out of? I don’t imagine! Weight loss is just like this.

Remember, you do not have to give yourself junk food as a reward. There are lots of other ways that you could choose to pamper yourself. You could get a haircut, take a trip to the spa, go to the movies, or anything, so long as it is a reward for a job well done.
