Gain storage with your bed



If you want clean and simple bedroom storage solutions, it makes great sense to check out a platform storage bed. It has several advantages a traditional bed. They look pretty cool and are great if you live in a tiny apartment or just have a small bedroom to work with.

There’s never enough storage space at home, even for us with a 2000 sq ft garage. It seems like whatever storage you do have either isn’t big enough or is in the wrong spot. I don’t want to store food in the bedroom, so I must need a bigger pantry. I don’t want my linens in the kitchen, need more storage in the bedroom or hallway.

This may be a good solution for your storage issues; get a platform storage bed. Most folks are familiar with the traditional bed that consists of a mattress, a box spring or foundation, headboard, footboard and side rails. Another options are metal frames that are simple and fairly inexpensive. These beds are not a new idea. They’ve been around forever and used by those who are used to living in tight quarters.

The Japanese have wrestled with a lack of physical space and natural resources. Out of cultural necessity, they have learned to economize and maximize space in the home and created the japanese platform bed.

Many bed retailers offer a platform bed frame that are easy to assemble and relatively inexpensive. In order to provide enough under the bed storage space, the bottom of the bed frame needs to be raised.

Many styles of platform storage bed frames solve this problem in a fairly simple and straightforward way. The solution is to eliminate the need for a foundation or box spring. The principle of using springs to support a mattress goes back to the days before the innerspring mattress. Whether your storage needs include drawers or just a little extra space to store items under the bed, a platform storage bed could be solution.

  1. What a fabulous idea. I recently had to relocate from a house to an apartment so the lack of space was simply amazing. I looked into many options, particularly for my children but this one seems a no-brainer. Enough space to put the extra clothes as well as toys all neatly tucked away under the bed WITHOUT all the dust bunnies….brilliant!
