Those love handles should go!

It absolutely gets tiring when you need to waste minutes choosing the perfect clothes that will hide your love handles each time you go out. Also called muffin tops, love handles are one of the most visible annoyances in terms of physical appearance. And the unfortunate thing is they hang around for a much longer period of time compared to other stored fats in your body.

This layer of fat coiled around your midsection is present for lots of reasons. Not exercising much is the primary explanation. Most of us are familiar with having science do most of the grunt work – a major change from the past decades when we had to trust themselves to do something. Most of our time is spent watching T.V. or using the computer, which not only does nothing to shape you physically, but also damages our eyes slowly. Even most jobs nowadays makes extensive use of computers that they do most of the jobs, not only mental, but physical as well. Sitting around and doing nothing only makes you more unhealthy and bigger.

Another explanation is the bulk of what we digest. As unhealthy restaurants pop up, as well as fried and preserved foods, health risks are abound. Most foods nowadays contain a lot of fats that not only produces unsightly bulges but also is troublesome for one’s health. There are less health-friendly foods out there that unmotivated people will get impatient and just go with whatever is the easiest, which is usually unhealthy. They eat today and agonize and get bothered later.

One way to take care of them, after knowing such reasons, is to of course take up a regular exercise. The buzz word today is ‘cardiovascular exercise’, which focuses on developing large muscles like your legs and torso to help make your heart stronger and promote a high flow of blood to other systems. This also is a very potent trimming down activity because targets the supportive parts of your body, which paves the way for more effective exercise once you can handle it. This is also called aerobic exercise, and it includes swimming, biking, stair climbing or running.

A plus factor in this endeavor is when you hit the gym. You build force and this makes your body more receptive to the aerobic activities. After weights, it is a good idea to do torso twists, use the stationary bike, and other cardio apparatuses to burn more calories.

Limiting the intake of saturated fats such as donuts, fries and a whole lot of fast foods can go a long way to help you in combating “the barrel”. Don’t drink too much alcohol as well, and the old, common sense of eating your veggies and avoiding candies still absolutely holds true for you to succeed and finally lose the undesired bulge.
